Miroslav Dimitrov was born in 1973 in the town of Burgas, Bulgaria.
He started playing piano at the age of 4. In 1992 M. Dimitrov graduated from the Musical High School "Pantcho Vladigerov" in Burgas as a Valedictorian of his class. Furthermore, in 1992 he entered into The National Music Academy in Sofia with the highest admission status of all students nationalwide. Dimitrov graduated in 1996 from the Academy again as a Valedictorian in the piano class of Prof. Milena Mollova, the famous Bulgarian pedagogue and pianist. In 1997 Miroslav Dimitrov was admitted into the piano masterclass of Prof. Geoffrey Douglas Madge at The Royal Conservatory, The Hague, The Netherlands.
Miroslav Dimitrov has had his first concert at the age of 7. At the age of 14 he played L. van Beethoven, Concerto No.1 Op.15 in C major with the Burgas Philharmonic Orchestra.
Miroslav Dimitrov has received awards at the following competitions for pianists:
- 10th Bulgarian National Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov"- 1st prize
- 16th International Competition for Young Pianists "Senigallia" - Italy
- 1st Bulgarian National Competition "Liszt - Bartok"
- 1st Academic Competition "Johannes Brahms"
- 3rd International Competition "P. Konyovich" in Belgrade - 1st prize
He is also a laureate of the "Prof. Lyuba Encheva" music award.
Miroslav Dimitrov has had concerts with the Philharmonic Orchestras in the Bulgarian towns of Sofia, Russe, Pleven, Burgas etc.. He has played at the International Festival "March Musical Days"; The International Musical Festival Laureate Days "Katya Popova"; Art Festival "Apolonia" 1996; "Salonica, Culture Capital of Europe", Greece 1997.
In 1994 he was invited to give the opening to the 3rd Congress of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA), performing Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1 with the Belgrade State Philharmonic Orchestra.
Miroslav Dimitrov has broadcasted with the Bulgarian National Television and Bulgarian National Radio, TV "7 days", radio FM Classic", RTB and others.
Soloconcerts he gave, amongst others, for members of the Dutch Parlement in The Hague, in Cöteanum, Zwitserland (1999), de Amstelkerk, Amsterdam, in the Laurenskerk, Rotterdam (2000).
Furthermore on his repertoirelist are: Schumann pianoconcert (Nederlandse Promenade Orkest, 2000), Rachmaninov 2nd pianoconcert (Collegium Musicum Caolinum in concerthall 'De Vereniging' in Nijmegen, 2001), and the 5th pianoconcert of Beethoven 'Emperor' , 2001 in Amsterdam and 2003 in The Hague, and a soloconcert with the first trumpetplayer of the Residentie Orkest, Huug Steketee (De Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague, 2002)
Recently he played on the presentation of the latest model Bechstein Grand Piano and M. Dimitrov had a concert in Japan with the violinist Yoko Mano. Back in Holland his next project was "Pianokunstwerken" (Pianoartworks). Pianokunstwerken was a studioconcert of eighteen 20th century compositions for solo piano added with nineteen 21st century pieces of art, made by artist who are inspired by the played compositions.
